Indian Wells - After The Match…this brand new, icy cut off Indian Wells‘ debut album Night Drops sucks our minds back to reality again.
Moons - Waves at Night…sprawling, weightless cosmic transmission…
Poolside - Slow DownWith glossy synths that seem to hit in slow-mo and a bass that doesn’t do much more than crawl, it’s dance music for the chillout tent, a woozy song with a beat that sounds like it’s constantly trying to unstick itself from something.
Levek - Black Mold Grow…this new one is far more immediate with each string or drum hit sounding indefinitely more affecting.
Seatraffic - Crimes…a darker ride, bringing up feelings (and longings) for the older Interpol vibe.
Wild Nothing - ShadowKeeping up with the sleepy/dreamy vibe of today, Wild Nothing has just dropped the first single, “Shadow”, from their upcoming LP Nocturne
1990 - GirlRetro future is the new futuristic future.
Rift & Walrii - WeaverBeautifully composed, let slow synths lull you and swooning vocals soothe you.
Atlas Genius - Back SeatWith an understated bass line and a chorus begging you to warble along, the track illustrates what Atlas Genius will undoubtedly continue to do so well: make the hit-dropping game look easy.
Cruiser - Home TurfWith heavy pop sensibilities, drenched in summer vibes with a sprinkling of sand. Andy has crafted these songs in a “walk-in closet of a crowded inner city loft” in Philly, that are to be enjoyed with windows down and temperatures up.
ILLLS - GoodsWith its slightly darker and more ferocious vibe, “Goods” is a step away from the cheerfulness of the first two singles, and in fact my favorite ILLLS song so far, catchy and wild and propulsive.
Soleman - Thru My EyesI honestly can’t say either way, but regardless, “Thru My Eyes” has me itching for more.
Indian Wells - DeuceA render of surroundings in a removed state of being.
The Miracles Club - The WheelNew cosmic psych-house club jam from Portland’s Honey Owens + her group the Miracles Club.
d’Eon - Transparency pt. IIThe frustrated lover’s plea “Transparency Pt. II” is a soulful, evolved sequel of sorts to last year’s “Transparency”…
Steezy Ray Vibes - Time Stands Still (demo)…Dan Casey is displaying a musical prowess that sounds like it took years to hone.
Lemoande - VividI’m just glad I’ve found a record as amazing as this to keep on repeat.
AGOR - TrainWith Agor, we see Alex’s solo efforts, and the results are just as unique and satisfying as you could hope for.
Physical Therapy - Record SalesThe song is wholly endearing either way, smiling its way through synth lines that hang in the air like dipping paper planes.
